    Merle Eugene Kirk, 87, passed away March 18. A Funeral Mass and graveside service were held March 26 at St. Paul Catholic Church, where donations can be made in his name.
  • Sr. Mary Ellen Hanson
    Sister of St. Mary of Oregon Mary Ellen Hanson, 87, died April 2. There will be a vigil service Thursday, April 8, at the motherhouse of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon. The funeral Mass will be at 4 p.m. Friday, April 9, at the motherhouse.
  • Robert Otto Roberts
    Robert Otto Roberts, 82, died Feb. 14. Bob loved teaching, family and Jesus.
  • Margaret Uffelman
    Margaret Uffelman, 99, died March 26. There will be a funeral Mass Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Stayton.
  • Arvada Winward
    Arvada Winward, 91, passed away March 21 at home after a long battle with COPD. Her children visited with her before saying goodbye for her eternal rest, to be with her beloved husband Gail. The Rosary is being held April 5 at Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes 1-5 p.m. There will be a funeral Mass at Holy Family Church April 6 at 1 p.m.
  • Sr. Rosemary Antonich
    LAKE OSWEGO — Holy Names Sister Rosemary Antonich, 92, died March 21 at Mary’s Woods at Marylhurst. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced later.
  • Holy Names Sr. Magdalen Basick
    LAKE OSWEGO — Holy Names Sister Magdalen Basick, 105, died March 12 at Mary's Woods at Marylhurst. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced later.
  • Franciscan Missionary Sisters lose oldest member
    Franciscan Missionary Sister Cecilia Lee, the oldest living member of her congregation, died March 20 at the Convent of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows in Beaverton. There was a rosary and funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Retreat and burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
  • Sr. Donna Hortsch, SNJM
    Holy Names Sister Donna Hortsch, 86, died Feb. 28 in Lake Oswego. Due to COVID-19, a funeral Mass will be celebrated later.
  • Longtime Oregon priest dead at 89
    Jesuit Father James Robert Conyard, 89, died of natural causes on Nov. 26 in Los Gatos, California. A private memorial Mass was celebrated in the chapel at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos.

  • Jeanne Pendergrass, 87, died Monday, Feb. 22, of complications due to Parkinsons.
  • Fr. Ben Innes, OFM
    Franciscan Friar Ben Richard Innes, 67, died Feb. 26 at Mercy Retirement Center in Oakland, California. Due to Covid restrictions, a liturgical celebration will occur at San Luis Rey, Oceanside, California, at a later date.
  • Sister Sue Schaad, SNJM
    TUALATIN — Holy Names Sister Sue Schaad, 77, died Feb. 19. A funeral Mass will be celebrated later because of COVID-19 concerns.
  • Wilton Carey Jackson
    Wilton Carey Jackson, Lake Oswego, Oregon, died February 16th, 2021, after a long, adventurous life. Wilton was born in Little River, Texas, in 1920 to W.C Jackson and Nora Brashear Jackson.
  • Margery Jackson
    Margery Jackson (nee Hillman), (March 1, 1927 – February 13, 2021) beloved wife of Wilton Jackson (1920-2021), and cherished mother of six daughters and two sons, and many adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren.
  • Margaret Eleanor Dever
    Margaret Eleanor Dever, 89, beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died Jan. 28 while recovering from COVID-19.
    She was married to Frank Dever for 61 years, and was the mother of five daughters.
  • Joyce Nelson
    Delores Joyce Nelson died Feb. 4 surrounded by family. She was born on Feb. 4, 1935, on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Poplar, Montana, to Harry and Tillie Culbertson. In 1943, the family moved to Milton, Washington. In the summer of 1944, they moved to Vanport, where Harry and Tillie worked in the Swan Island shipyards. They resided in Vanport until the flood of 1948, when the family relocated to Portland.

    Mary Rose “Rosie” Limb, 101, died Feb. 21. There was a funeral Mass in Louisiville, Kentucky.
  • Dolores Jean Bales

    Dolores Jean Katherine Bales passed away suddenly on February 12, 2021 following a brief illness.

    She was born to Raymond and Loretta Kolb in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 12, 1931. Her early childhood was spent in the St. Louis and Belleville, Illinois, areas. In 1942 the family moved to Portland, Oregon, where she attended Ascension Catholic School and later graduated from Washington High School in 1949.
