  • Michael Donald Culbertson, 49, a member of St. Peter Parish in Portland, died of cancer May 23 in Gresham. There was a funeral Mass.
  • Sr. Mary Ann McGee, SNJM
    Holy Names Sister Mary Ann McGee [Sister Michele Marie] died peacefully July 27 at Brookdale Nine Mile, in Spokane, Washington. A funeral Mass will take place in the presence of her ashes at a later date.
  • MILWAUKIE — Gloria Mae Flaherty, 93, died July 28. There was a funeral Mass at Christ the King Church, where she was a parishioner. 
  • Dave Andresen
    ALOHA — Dave Andresen, 87, died Aug. 1. There was a funeral Mass at St. Cecilia Church in Beaverton, where he was a parishioner.
  • Kathryn Burnside
    NEWPORT — After a decades-long battle with cancer and rheumatoid arthritis, Kathy Madelene Haener Burnside died peacefully July 3, surrounded by her family. There was a private family funeral service and viewing at her home parish of Sacred Heart. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
  • Jeanette Greenstreet-Crawford
    Jeanette Marie Greenstreet-Crawford died peacefully July 8, at home surrounded by her husband and children after a nearly 10-month battle with cancer. Her burial service in Gethsemani Cemetery was held July 14.

    CANBY — Mary "Marie" Augusta Nelke Trumm, 95, died July 4 at her home. There will be a funeral Mass once arrangements are decided. 
  • Margaret Cook
    Margaret Mary Cook, loving matriarch of the Cook clan, died peacefully the morning of May 16.
  • Wayne Jenkins
    Wayne Conwell Jenkins, 84, a member of St. Pius X Parish for 49 years, died June 22 at St. Vincent Hospital. There will be a private funeral service at Willamette National Cemetery.
  • SALEM — Leona Marie Schaffers, 100, died July 6 in Salem. A private funeral mass for family will be held on July 16, (available to stream by contacting St. Vincent de Paul Church). Following the Mass there will be a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery in Mount Angel, which will be open to a maximum of 10 people with masks. 
  • Elizabeth Parker
    Elizabeth Parker, a member of St. Clare Parish in Southwest Portland, died June 22 after surviving a year and a half of terminal cancer. She was surrounded by her family. There was a funeral Mass.
  • ROSEMONT, Penn. — Sister Helen Schwarz, 92, a Sister of the Holy Child Jesus for 72 years, died May 10.
  • ROSEMONT, Penn. —Sister Suzanne “Sue” Snyder, 84, (Mother Gregory Mary) who was a Sister of the Holy Child Jesus for 64 years, died peacefully June 28.
  • Holy Child Sister Lorraine DeViller died May 24.
  • ROSEMONT, Penn. — Sister Kathleen Groh, 95, a Sister of the Holy Child Jesus for 75 years, died at Holy Child Center in Rosemont.
  • GRESHAM — Marion Bridenbeck, 91, died June 23. There was a funeral Mass at St. Henry Church. She was a parishioner there.
  • Franciscan Sr. Patricia Kidd
    ASTON, Penn.—Franciscan Sister Patricia Kidd (formerly Sister St. Jude), 83, died June 30 in Assisi House. She had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 63 years. There will be a private funeral Mass at Assisi House.
  • APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. — Harold Austin “Red” Morrissey, Jr., 89, formerly of Amarillo, Texas, died peacefully from a brief COVID illness June 21, in a memory care facility. Funeral services and burial will be in late July at Restlawn Memorial Park, El Paso, where he will be buried with several generations of his family including his precious infant daughter.
  • Franciscan Sr. Frances Calhoun
    ASTON, Penn. —Franciscan Sister Frances Marie Calhoun (formerly Sister Joseph Therese), 93, died in Riddle Memorial Hospital June 29. She had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 70 years and would have celebrated her 70th jubilee this year. All services will be held at a later date in Assisi House in Aston. They will be private.
