Sr. Mary E. Sullivan, SNJM
LAKE OSWEGO — Holy Names Sister Mary Sullivan, SNJM, 95, died June 16 at the Marie-Rose Center at Mary’s Woods at Marylhurst. The Zoom memorial is July 7, 2 p.m. and the funeral Mass takes place July 14, 11 a.m. at the Chapel of the Holy Names, Marylhurst. For information, call 503.534.5778.
Carmelite Sr. Mary Veronica Doerner
EUGENE — Sister Mary Veronica of the Holy Face, OCD, (Frances Anna Doerner) the last founding sister of the Carmel of Maria Regina, died April 4, 2022, at the age of 93 from heart failure. She died peacefully at the monastery with the sisters caring for her.
Sister Mary Noreen O’Leary
Holy Names Sister Mary Noreen O’Leary, 100, died May 15 at the Marie-Rose Center, Mary’s Woods at Marylhurst, Lake Oswego. A virtual memorial will be held Thursday, June 16, at 3 p.m. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, July 5, 11 a.m., Chapel of the Holy Names, Marylhurst. Holy Names Sister Rita Rose Vistica, 88, died May 3 in Lake Oswego. Funeral arrangements are pending.
Sr. Kathleen Boyd, SSMO
Born in Beaverton July 9, 1939, Kathleen Mae Boyd graduated from St. Cecilia Elementary School (1953) and St. Mary of the Valley Academy (1957).

Maria E. Loeffler, 92, passed away peacefully March 26, surrounded by her family in Portland.
John (Jack) Basic
John (Jack) Anthony Basic passed away peacefully on March 15, in the company of dear friends.
Deolindo Fausto Baiocco
Deolindo Fausto was born in Caporciano, Italy in 1926, to Benedetto and Paolina Baiocco. He immigrated to Canada when he was 24 years old. In 1952 he married his childhood friend, Paola DiVincenzo. With determination, hard work and faith, they built a life together in Portland that lasted 55 years.
Juliette Yvonne (Collamati) Chamberland
Julie was born at home in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, to Arduino and Juliette Collamati on November 6, 1923.

Spirit filled, faithful vessel of God’s Word, artistic, caring, kind, loving and graceful dancer. A true gift to us all whom we entrusted to God in heaven after being diagnosed with cancer nine months prior.
Tim McLeod
Timothy Ray McLeod, known as “Sunny Tim” to friends and coworkers, died March 12 after surprising doctors and surviving for 11 years with multiple myeloma. Tim could well have been one of the most affable humans on the planet, even while he had a fatal disease.
Sr. Rose Marie Holden, OSF
Sister Rose Marie Holden was born at home on Taylor Street in Phoenix, Arizona, May 17, 1923, to Susana and Harry Holden, “good and faithful Catholics”, who raised to adulthood their family of eight children – the three girls: Suzanna, Cecilia and Rose Marie; and five boys: Harry, Jack, Anthony, Joseph and Patrick.
Sr. Joan Berger, SNJM
Holy Names Sister Joan Berger, 89, died Feb. 26 at Mary’s Woods at Marylhurst, Lake Oswego. The Liturgy of Resurrection will begin at 10:30 am, March 11, at Our Lake of the Lake Parish, Lake Oswego. A reception follows. The burial will take place at 1:30 pm at Holy Names Cemetery, Marylhurst.
Sr. Lucille Dean, SP
Sister Lucille Dean, a Sister of Providence for 67 years, died February 18 at St. Joseph Residence in Seattle, Washington. There are memorial Masses scheduled for Burbank, California, and Great Falls. Her funeral Mass is Saturday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Seattle. Holy Names Sister Anita Noé, 103, died Feb. 17 at Mary’s Woods at Marylhurst in Lake Oswego. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced later.

Sister of St. Joseph of Peace Noreen Terrault (Sister Adriana) died Jan. 7 in Bellevue, Washington.
Cynthia von Borstel
Cynthia Jayne von Borstel, 91, a resident of the Beaverton community, passed away Dec. 31, 2021, at Maryville Care. A Rosary/Sharing will be held in the convent chapel of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon Friday, March 4,, at 6:30 p.m., and the funeral will be held Saturday, March 5, at 10 a.m. in the Sisters Convent Chapel. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at the Grass Valley, Oregon, Cemetery with a reception following at the Grass Valley Pavillion.
Mary Jo Welp
Mary Jo Welp, 76, passed away peacefully Feb. 3. She was surrounded by her husband, Jim, of 52 years, and her daughters, Amy Welp and Molly DeTuri. There will be a recitation of the rosary at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Northeast Portland, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

BEAVERTON — Sister Mary Margaret Tan, 95, died after a short illness in the convent infirmary of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows, Beaverton, January 13.
Brother Mark Parker, OSB
Benedictine Brother Mark Parker, 73, a monk of Mount Angel Abbey, died Feb. 2. He had been professed as a monk for 34 years.
