SPRINGFIELD — During July, Catholic Community Services of Lane County and the Springfield Grocery Outlet teamed up to fight local hunger.

If shoppers donated $5 or more at checkout last month, they got a coupon for $5 off their next Grocery Outlet purchase of $25 or more.

The donations pay for pre-filled bags of groceries that are delivered to the Catholic Community Services Springfield food pantry and distributed to those in need.

Last year, the agency received more than $12,000 in food from the campaign. The pantry served more than 10,000 people in 2018.

Tracy and Tom Hogan, owners of Grocery Outlet, have participated in the project since 2015.
