The incorrupt heart of St. John Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests, will be available for veneration in the Archdiocese of Portland on Tuesday, March 5, and Wednesday, March 6 (Ash Wednesday). The saint’s heart was removed 45 years after he died and remains incorrupt.

The relic has been entrusted to the Knights of Columbus for a national tour running through early June.

Tuesday the relic will be at Mount Angel Abbey and Seminary from 4 to 5 p.m. and at St. Joseph Parish in Salem from 7 to 9 p.m. On Ash Wednesday, it will be at The Grotto in Northeast Portland from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at St. Mary Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Portland from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

The regular noon Mass will be celebrated at The Grotto, and the 5:30 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at the cathedral.
