In a final effort to get a stay from the courts on Judge Michael McShane’s May 19 decision to overturn Oregon’s marriage amendment and allow same-sex marriage, the National Organization for Marriage was disappointed.  

The U.S. Supreme Court today issued a one-line order:  “The application for stay presented to Justice Kennedy and by him referred to the Court is denied.”
 
The organization has appealed the denial of their motion for intervention in the case, and that appeal is still pending in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
