Helen Baumann

SALEM — Helen J. Baumann, a member of Queen of Peace Parish here, died June 10. She was 96.

Mrs. Baumann was born March 22, 1918, in Marinette, Wisconsin. She graduated from East High School in Erie, Pa. in 1935, and then found employment, working for a time in an armory in manufacturing goods during World War II. She married Tom Baumann in 1945. They moved to Housatonic, Mass..

They raised three children, Thomas, Timothy, and Carol Ann. In 1978, they moved to Prosser, Wash., and after retirement, they relocated to Modesto, Calif. In 1990, they relocated to Salem, to be closer to family. Helen and Tom were members of Queen of Peace Church in Salem for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997. In 2010, she moved to Mount Angel.

She is survived by her sister, Arlene Jackson, Denver; her three children, Thomas Baumann, Salem; Timothy Baumann, Lake Arrowhead, Calif.; Carol Ann Ullom, Dallesport, Wash.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Funeral mass was held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
