Rita Jane (Carlson) Glazebrook died May 23. She was 92.
Mrs. Glazebrook was born Aug. 28, 1921, in Chicago to Howard and Mary Carlson. She graduated from Sacred Heart School in Whiting, Catholic Central High School in Hammond, Ind., and De Paul University in Chicago. She worked as a reporter and feature writer at the Gary Post Tribune of Gary, Ind. She also worked at the U.S. Signal Corps of the Army in Washington, D.C., in 1945.
She married Thomas Glazebrook in 1947 and they moved to Oregon in 1959. After retirement in 1977, they moved moved to Portland. She was part of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women and the St. Therese Woman’s Association
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Anne Glazebrook and Catherine Glazebrook, Portland; three grandsons; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
A service was held. Memorial donations can be made to St. Therese Church or the National Museum of Forest Service History.
