TIGARD — James Kemp, a member of St. Mary Cathedral Parish in Northwest Portland, died Sunday, June 1 of a serious illness at his home here. He was 74.
Mr. Kemp was born June 12, 1939, in Alamosa, Colo. He married his wife Dorene in 1961. Mr. Kemp worked as a quality consultant/engineer for several companies over the years, including Oregon Catholic Press, the publisher of this newspaper.
He is survived by his wife Dorene, Tigard; son Stephen, Tigard; daughter Teresa, Tacoma, Wash.; and daughter Tamara, Green Bank, Whidbey Island, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 12 at St. Mary Cathedral in Northwest Portland. A rosary will be celebrated before Mass at 10 a.m.
