Terry Amato died March 14. He was 61.
Mr. Amato was born Jan. 13, 1953, in Portland and grew up in Laurelhurst. He attended St. Philip Neri, Our Lady of the Lake and Jesuit High schools. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications in 1976 from Portland State University. He married Carolyn Ruscitti in 1978. She died in 1984. In his professional life, he worked with numerous people in Portland and the events of the community including The Bite of Oregon, Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival, Portland Bridal Show and Special Olympics Polar Plunge.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Amato, Lake Oswego; brothers, Charles Roger Amato, Portland; Donald Amato, Lake Oswego; and Gerry Amato, Boise; and sisters, Carol Amato, Corona, Calif., and Sheryl Russell, Wilsonville.
A funeral is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Lake Oswego with a reception to follow at the church.
