Veronica Marie Connolly, a member of St. Therese Parish, died Jan. 30. She was 74.
Mrs. Connolly was born Jan. 23, 1940, in Evergreen Park, Ill., to Herman and Edna Voss. She graduated from Aquinas Dominican High School in 1956 and received a bachelor’s degree in education from St. Xavier College in 1961. She married Joseph Connolly in 1964 and they lived together in Chicago before relocating to Portland in 1973. She taught elementary school and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Herman and Edna Voss; siblings, Don Voss, Geri McCarthy, Mary Sullivan and Ginger Walsh; and brothers-in-law, Dan McDevitt, Tom Maloney, Dennis McCarthy and Eugene Sullivan. She is survived by five daughters, Mary Connolly, Kathleen Lacey, Janet Connolly-Giwa, Peggy Dexter and Sharon Connolly; sons-in-law, Tad Lacey, Tunde Giwa and Jeff Dexter; six grandchildren; siblings, Joseph Voss, Betty McDevitt and Shirley Maloney; and 63 nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 16, at St. Therese Parish.
