Alfred Mick died Jan. 18. He was 71.
Mr. Mick was born May 25, 1942, in Osborne, Kan. At age 6, he moved with his family to Boise, Idaho. After attending Catholic primary schools in Boise, he spent his freshman year of high school in Mount Angel. He returned to Boise and graduated from St. Theresa Academy. He earned his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb., in 1967. Following his internship, he spent two years as a physician in the the Navy and then moved to Milwaukie. In 1970, he joined a small clinic near Providence Milwaukie Hospital, which evolved into Northwest Primary Care.
He is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. He survived by his wife Carol; two children and three step-children, Julie (Majo) Ahrens, Erin Mick, Aaron (Kelli) Shurtliff, Erika Shurtliff and Tiffaney Shurtliff; five grandchildren; three sisters, Ernestine Mick, Beloit, Kan., Marianne (Blaine) Wallace, Phoenix, Ariz., and Martha (Ron) Sullivan, Centennial, Colo.
A memorial Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church.
