Douglas Penner died Nov. 25. He was 82.
Mr. Penner was born July 13, 1931, in Estacada to Antoinette and Jacob Penner and was raised in Mount Angel. He attended the University of Portland on a football scholarship and served in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. After college, he went to work at the Twilight Room, a neighborhood tavern frequented by University of Portland community members. He eventually purchased the T-Room and ran it for more than 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bart. He is survived by his wife Janet; sons, Chris and Greg (Lauren); daughter, Cassandra (Ted); and seven grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at the Chapel of Christ the Teacher at the University of Portland.
