Celestino “Tino” Edward Ornelas died Nov. 19. He was 68.
Mr. Ornelas was born Jan. 5, 1945, in Canon City, Colo., to Ruth and Tino Ornelas. He married Joy Brewster in 1967. He served in the Navy as a radar tech during the Vietnam War. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Marylhurst University. He worked for Tektronix for 22 years, ending his career as a purchasing manager. In 1991, he formed his own company, Ornelas Enterprises.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Joy Brewster Ornelas; children, Nita Ornelas Werner, Scott Ornelas, Karin Madsen and Karol Johnston; son-in-law, Chris Werner; four grandchildren; sibilings, Nita Novak, Mary Ellen Towner, Tomas Ornelas, Larry Rendon, Deanna DeHerrera and Linda Ornelas Mitchell; brother-in-law, Robert Brewster; sisters-in law, Jackie Jones and Nancy Brewster; and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Holy Trinity Church in Beaverton.
