Nicholas Gallicchio

Nicholas Anthony Gallicchio died Nov. 1. He was 85.

Mr. Gallicchio was born July 14, 1928, in New Haven, Conn., to Anna (Triumfo) and Antonio Gallicchio. He graduated from New Haven High School in 1946. Just weeks after finishing high school, he moved to Southern California. He married Marie Connelly in 1950 and they settled in Culver City, Calif. He worked for General Telephone for 32 years. In 1960, he got his real estate license and in 1985 he opened a real estate office. In retirement, he moved to Rockaway Beach and worked in the Oregon Coast real estate business for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Guadagno, North Hills, Calif., and brothers Dominick Gallicchio, North Haven; Gerald Gallicchio, East Haven, Conn.; and Joseph Gallicchio, East Haven. He is survived by his two daughters, Kathy (Neil) Cullen, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and Patti (Dean) Tohl, Tillamook; two grandsons; and sister, Marion Prisco of North Haven.

A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at St. John Fisher Church in Portland, followed by a reception in the parish hall. A funeral Mass in Rockaway Beach will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at St. Mary's by the Sea Church, followed by a reception in the parish hall.
