ESTACADA — Betty Mae Gardner Farasy Puckett died July 14. She was 86.
Mrs. Puckett was born May 9, 1927, in England, Ark., to Briggs Gardner and Alvin Gardner. She graduated from England High School before moving to California in 1947. She graduated from beauty school and then worked for the phone company in Los Angeles. She married Earl Oliver Farasy in 1948. In 1951, they moved to Portland. She was active in the Altar Society at St. John the Baptist Church and Christ the King Church in Milwaukie. She married Fred Puckett in 1978, in La Mesa, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings; and a granddaughter. She is survived by her husband; six children, Christine (Roger) Flynn, Phoenix, Ariz.; Richard Farasy, Milwaukie; Margaret (Steve) Ryan, Lead, S.D.; Anthony Farasy, Estacada; Lisa Peterson, Battle Ground, Wash.; and Michelle (Nate) Schwartzberg, West Hills, Calif.; sister Margo Deems, Salinas, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Phillip Benizi Church in Oregon City. Memorial donations can be made to the Mayo Clinic at www.mayoclinic.org/donate in support of education and research.
