Charlie Crawford died June 13. He was 85.
Mr. Crawford was born Dec. 22, 1927, to Charlie and Clara Crawford in Everett, Wash. He graduated from Everett High School and Washington State College, majoring in sociology. He later earned a master’s degree in education from Oregon College of Education. In 1951, he married Yvonne Nederbo of Portland, who preceded him in death in 1971. He married Dolores Preuitt in 1974. He was superintendent of the Donald E. Long Home in Portland for many years. He also worked in women's corrections for Multnomah County. He and Dolores retired to Shelter Bay, Wash., later moved to Mt. Vernon, Wash., and then to McMinnville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lou Ellen Clark; and a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Dolores; daughters, Cynthia Wiser, Eugene, and Diane Crawford, Germany; two grandsons; and sister, Pat Bakken, Eugene.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 29, at St. James Church in McMinnville. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Care of the Northwest, Salem.
