Sister of Providence Lucy Margaret St. Hilaire died March 7. She was 83.
Born Nov. 13, 1929, in Yakima, Wash., she attended schools in Yakima and entered the novitiate of the Sisters of Providence in 1949, made first profession in 1950, and final vows in 1954.
Her academic accomplishments included a bachelor’s degree of College of Great Falls, Mont., in1958; master’s degree at Seattle University in 1963. She did an internship in pastoral care at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. She served as a chaplain at St. Vincent Medical Center. She volunteered at Providence Child Center and was a team member of RCIA at All Saints Church in Portland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Thomas and James. She is survived her sisters, Alice St. Hilaire, SP, Yakima; Mary Roy (Leonard), Moxee, Wash.; brothers, Timothy (Patricia), Harrah, Wash.; Paul (Krista), Wapato, Wash.; Theodore (Katherine), Marysville, Wash.; sisters-in-law, Rosemarie St. Hilaire and Shar St. Hilaire and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated March 18 at 11 a.m., Mount St. Vincent Chapel, 4831 35th Avenue SW, Seattle.
