CENTERVILLE, Wash. — Marilyn Sarsfield, a member of Holy Trinity Church here, died Oct. 11. She was 78.
Mrs. Sarsfield was born May 9, 1934, in Portland. She grew up in Portland where she graduated from Holy Child Academy in 1952 and from University of Portland in 1956. She married Anthony Sarsfield 1956, and started teaching in Wishram, Wash. She later taught in Goldendale, Wash., then in Centerville from 1967-‘72. For many years, she continued to substitute teach and when Centerville School instituted a kindergarten in 1982, she returned to teaching full time until her retirement in 1998.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Tony, Centerville; daughter Christine (Kevin) Seed, Portland; son George (Laurie) Sarsfield; three grandchildren; and brother George (Carolyn) Winslow, Portland.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Holy Trinity Church in Centerville, followed by a reception at Centerville Grange Hall.
