Shirley Ann Lynch, a longtime member of St. Charles Church, died Sept. 29. She was 80.
Mrs. Lynch was born Jan. 16, 1932, in Memphis, Tenn. She came to Portland as a teenager and graduated from Roosevelt High School and Marylhurst College. She married Ray Lynch in 1975 and they continued living in Portland, until moving to Vancouver in 1984. She taught in both Portland parochial and public schools, retiring from Joseph Meek Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by children, Roland Cannard and Kevin Lynch. She is survived by her husband, Ray; 11 children, Teri Halverson, Mulino; Shelly Cady, Washougal; Becki Miller and Lucinda Gillingham, Vancouver; Niki Hamilton, Beaverton; Cheri Meng, Portland; Lance Cannard, Oak Grove; Michael Lynch, Battleground; Kelly Lynch, Portland; Ryan Lynch, Milwaukie; and Lorin Lynch, Portland; two brothers, David Morin, Beaverton; and Dale Morin, Arizona; three sisters, Janine McCambly, Tillamook; Billye Friberg, Bend; and Marie Herboth, Portland; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at St. Charles Church. Viewing and vigil prayer service, Friday evening, 7 p.m. also at the church. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Charles St. Vincent dePaul.
