Dennis Johnson died Sept. 25. He was 67.
Mr. Johnson was born July 26, 1945, in Seattle. He grew up in Portland, graduating from Parkrose High School in 1963 and continuing on to Portland State University. He worked as a sign painter while paying his way through school, eventually graduating with a bachelor's degree and going on to a career as a graphic designer. He worked for a few agencies over the years, but primarily worked hard to run his own freelance design business. In 1971 he married Carole Kiernan. She preceded him in death in 2009.
He is survived by his daughters, Sara Godfrey and Samantha Johnson, and one granddaughter.
A memorial service was held at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Memorial donations can be made to the Oregon Food Bank or Legacy Hospice.
