Dorothee (Müller) Gray, a member of St. Stephen for 25 years, died Sept. 20. She was 86.
She was born June 12, 1926, in Niedersachsen, Germany. She grew up in Germany and following WWII; she studied in Trier and graduated from the University of Bonn. In 1960, she married Allen Gray. They moved to the United States in 1963 and to Portland two years later. She worked as a medical laboratory technologist in Germany and the U.S. for more than 30 years, retiring in 1991. She divorced Allen in 1984. He died in 1998.
She was preceded in death by two brothers in the 1940s and one brother in 2002, and her parents in the 1960s. She is survived by her son, Michael Gray, Portland, and daughter, Monica Prentiss, Ridgefield, Wash.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at St. Stephen Church.
