Nancy Claire (Stack) Chapman died Aug. 7. She was 51.
Mrs. Chapman was born March 5, 1961, in Portland. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington in 1983 and a J.D. from the University of Puget Sound in 1992. She worked in corporate business law, and most recently as a senior staff attorney at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
She married in 2000 and is survived by her husband, The Honorable Arthur Chapman; sons, Silas and Sam; four siblings, Jill Wimberly (Tom, Bend), Daniel Stack (Stanford, Calif.), Monica Suryan (John, Bellevue) and John Stack (Portland); and her four nephews.
A service will be held at St. Joseph Parish in Seattle on Thursday, Aug. 16, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a burial Mass at St. Thomas More Church in Portland on Friday, Aug. 17, at 1 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Kaplan Research Fund at Swedish Hospital or Camp Nor'wester.
