Thomas Bartosz

SALEM — Thomas Bartosz, a member of the St. Joseph Church choir for 58 years, died April 2. He was 80.

Mr. Bartosz was born Oct. 12, 1931. He attended Sacred Heart Academy in Salem and was employed with Salem Handle Co, Meier & Frank, and Santiam Insulation. During the Korean War, he served as a corporal in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley (Davis); children, Cecilia (Mark) LeChevallier, Voorhees, N.J.; Carol (Deacon Chuck) Amsberry, Beaverton; Bob (Nancy) Bartosz, Roseburg; Don (Rachel) Bartosz, Portola, Calif.; and Barbara (Mike) Britch, Tigard; brothers, Joe and Larry, Salem; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph Church in Salem. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Joseph Church choir or Fr. Taaffe Homes
