'In Mulieribus' concert, workshop explore Byrd

In Mulieribus presents “Hidden Voices of Renaissance England” with guest conductor and scholar Kerry McCarthy, at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at St. Philip Neri Church in Southeast Portland, OR. A free workshop is set for 4 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Thursday, June 5, at Reed College.
In Mulieribus, a woman’s choir led by Anna Song, will join McCarthy, guest conductor and Willam Byrd scholar, to explore the music of Byrd, an English Catholic who died in 1623, and his contemporaries. Featured works include Byrd’s Mass for Three Voices, motets and sacred songs. Hannah Brewer will perform keyboard music of William Byrd. Concert tickets cost $25 for premium seating, $20 for general seats and $15 for students.
