Marylhurst authors to read

A trio of Marylhurst University authors will read from their works at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 in the Holy Names Heritage Center. The reading is part of the 120th anniversary of the school's Peregrine Literary Series.

Marylhurst graduates Cathy McGuire and Marie Buckley will read new and published work. McGuire's most recent books of poetry are Palimpsests and Glimpses of a Garden.

Buckley's work appears in the collection Quartets.

Catherine Garvin, a current student, has produced a short fiction piece Mermaid Black Fin under the Sellwood Bridge.

The free program is hosted by Holy Names Sister Joan Maiers, Marylhurst writing instructor and author. Canned goods donations will be collected for the Oregon Food Bank.
