Concerts set for April

University of Portland’s Chamber Ensembles will present a free concert at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 in Mago Hunt Center recital hall on campus. The concert will feature instrumentalists. Groups include the saxophone quartet, string quartet, woodwind quintet, brass quintet and jazz combos.

On Tuesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m., the University of Portland orchestra will join the Choral Arts Ensemble of Portland for “Lights Out of Shadow,” a show that culminates with both groups performing Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna. The concert is set for Buckley Center Auditorium on campus. The University Orchestra will play Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5.

Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting the Choral Arts Ensemble at caeportland.com or 503-488-3834. Adult tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door; seniors are $12 in advance, $15 at the door; University of Portland students have free admission at the door with UP ID; students from other institutions are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
