"Teen Moms Have a Future," a short documentary film, is set to air at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 in the black box theater of Milwaukie High School. A question and answer panel session with the teen moms who directed and appeared in the film will follow.

The 15-minute documentary by Courtney Polk assisted by Brittany Harmon portrays local teen parents persevering toward personal goals, while also having the responsibilities of parenting.

Polk, a Clackamas County resident who became pregnant at 15, now has a 4-year-old daughter and serves on the Board of Directors for Madonna's Center, a non-profit founded with support from local Catholics. She says she wanted a positive counterpoint to teen parent reality TV shows.

She is pursuing a degree in Digital Multimedia Communications at Clackamas Community College.

The City of Milwaukie's arts committee and Madonna's Center partnered to help Polk and Harmon with the project.
