Concert to augment Outdoor School fund

There's a unique venue in town that not only sells bicycles, but also provides space for local groups to hold benefits. Velo Cult, in addition to a repair shop, sports a large projector for movie nights. Archbishop Howard School at St. Rose in Northeast Portland and school supporters will come to Velo Cult at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, to help raise money for Outdoor School, which is scheduled for November.

The band 21june will play. Although budget cuts have taken a toll on many Portland 6th grade students' ability to participate in Outdoor School, Archbishop Howard parents and teachers want to keep the full-week program alive. Fundraising efforts have included a carwash, bake sale and business sponsorships.
