Concert to focus on medieval nun

The women's a capella choir In Mulieribus offers a concert centering on Hildegard von Bingen, the polymath 12th century abbess, artist, composer, author, and philosopher whose music and poetry have resurged.
"Sister of Wisdom: Hildegard von Bingen in Song," is set for 7 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at St. Stephen Church, 1112 SE 41st Ave. in Portland.
The concert will feature sequences, hymns, and responsories by Hildegard and music by modern composers who were inspired to set her sacred poetry to music. In Mulieribus, directed by Anna Song, is an eight -member female vocal ensemble dedicated to the promotion and enrichment of community through the art of music with a focus on works written primarily before 1750. In mulieribus is a Latin phrase meaning "amongst women."
