EUGENE — Lauren Burke, Marist Catholic High School junior shortstop, has been awarded the 2015-16 Gatorade Oregon Softball Payer of the Year for athletic and academic achievement and exemplary character.
MILWAUKIE — Emily McCoy, a La Salle Prep junior, has been named to participate in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps International Exchange Program. One of only nine cadets selected, she will be heading to Vancouver, British Columbia, to work alongside cadets from around the world. Cadets will be trained in small boat operations, sailing, firearms, shipboard and military drills. They will also travel around British Columbia for social and cultural activities.
Jesuit High School's spring auction celebrated the school's 60th anniversary and honored John Gladstone, who will retire June 30 after 11 years as president of Jesuit. The black tie evening also set a record, raising $2.7 million.
