When Lindy McDonald, pastoral council president at St. Philip Benizi Parish in Oregon City, visited Australia last summer she was excited, thinking she’d find even stronger faith communities than she was familiar with here in Oregon. That’s because she had left a strong Catholic Australian culture as a 19-year-old to come to the United States.
De La Salle North Catholic High School’s Corporate Internship Program will now be called the Corporate Work Study Program. School officials say they changed "internship" to "work study" to express what student workers do each week when they head to job placements. Officials say the change reflects the difference between “going to work” and “going to work to learn.”
