EUGENE — It seemed only natural to create a program where two generations could share in reading and also enjoy the social interactions that a reading program could offer. That was the initial thought Sharon Dunham had when she created the Generations in Reading program in 2007.

Dunham is a teacher and catechist for children’s liturgy at St. Mary Parish in Eugene. Dunham and her family have been a part of the parish since 1960.

Community best part of Holy Cross speech team
I’ve been privileged to be a student at Holy Cross School in North Portland since kindergarten. In June, 28 of us will be leaving this school and I’ll miss each of them dearly.

We have shared many experiences together, but one of the most memorable has been participating in the Valley Catholic Speech Competition, a contest where students have a chance to show their public speaking skills in three different rounds: elocution, extemporaneous and impromptu.
