The Marist Strings had the highest combined grade point average of any high school orchestra in the state.
The Marist Strings had the highest combined grade point average of any high school orchestra in the state.
EUGENE – Marist High School’s string program won first place in Oregon’s academic all-state award for orchestra. The award goes to the group with the highest combined grade point average. Students in Marist Strings had a combined GPA of 3.81.

Marylhurst chamber choir won honors on a tour of Ireland
Marylhurst University’s top choral ensemble brought home two awards from the 2016 Cork International Choral Festival in Cork, Ireland. The Marylhurst Chamber Choir, directed by Justin Smith, placed third in the festival’s most prestigious competition for the Fleischmann Award. Swedish and Turkish choirs took the top spots.
