The Central Catholic cross-country team wins their fifth 6A title in a row.
There were two Holy War football games in Oregon this fall, with a major turnabout from the first to the second. Early in the season, Jesuit pounded Central Catholic 56-19 in the annual game between crosstown Catholic high school rivals. But in the quarterfinals of the 6A playoffs Nov. 18, the Rams won 21-9 when it counted most, with a few bursts from running back Amari Hale and stingy defense in the second half. Central Catholic went on to defeat Tigard in a thrilling double overtime semifinal game. The 6A final was set for noon Saturday, Dec. 3, at Providence Park against West Linn.

Creatures of all sorts blessed
OREGON CITY — Some hopped, others slithered or trotted, but all animals were welcome at this year’s blessing of the animals at St. John the Apostle School. Even stuffed animals could line up, with a little help, for a blessing from Father Maxy D’Costa, pastor of St. John the Apostle Parish. As students, staff and guests sang, dogs, cats, bunnies and caterpillars gathered on the school playground with their humans to be prayed over.
