Our Lady of the Lake Parish is asking community members to “bring a neighbor” to its annual festival on Saturday, Sept. 13.
The party runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with food, games and music.
Katie Maag, festival leader, said she wants the Lake Oswego community to feel welcome at the church.
“This is the first year that Our Lady of the Lake Parish is making a real effort to include the Lake Oswego community in our parish festival,” she said. “It is going to be a wonderful day filled with good food, great live music, games and family fun.”
Knights of Columbus will prepare fish tacos, burgers and hotdogs.
Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to St. Vincent DePaul.
Games like volleyball and three-legged races will be set up in the gym. The Lake Oswego Fire Department and Lake Oswego Police will make an appearance, and attendees can get free blood pressure screenings, and health and first aid tips.
Featured entertainment for the festival will be the seven-piece ‘70s funk, blues and soul band, Ants in the Kitchen. Fathers John Kerns and Charles Wood plan to sing with the band during a few songs.
