TUALATIN — Attendees of an upcoming lecture at Resurrection Church can explore 2,000 years of art in the Christian Church, from the catacombs of Rome to the Gothic cathedrals of Europe. Liturgical artist and design director Greg Lewis will discuss the periods of art and architecture that have influenced Christian worship spaces of today.

The presentations run from 9 a.m. to noon on three Saturdays, Feb. 8, 15, and March 1.
An artist for 40 years, Lewis has planned and created custom works for liturgical and other spaces across the country. He teaches at Concordia University.

Lewis will cover: the historical significance of spreading Gospel message through signs and symbols; how art and architecture continue to shape worship spaces; and societal and cultural expressions of faith through art and architecture.

The event is co-sponsored by the Archdiocese of Portland.
