UP names liaison to tech industry
Catherine Myers has been appointed as liaison between the University of Portland engineering school and the tech industry. Myers, a 1983 graduate of UP, retired from tech engineering firm CH2M Hill after a 25-year career.
Myers will focus on internships, senior project development and sponsorship and helping graduates find jobs. She will also teach related engineering courses that prepare students for the workplace.
Myers retired this year as a CH2M Hill senior vice president. She also helped lead the firm's global operations.
She serves on several boards and advisory councils, including St. Mary’s Academy, SafeBuild Alliance and Community Warehouse. She has served on University of Portland’s Shiley School of Engineering Advisory Council since 2001. A member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish in Southwest Portland, she has been a member of the Society of Women Engineers since 1980, serving as a counselor for University of Portland students.
