They hit high speed for St. Therese

St. Therese students take laps for their school.
Those driving past St. Therese School in Northeast Portland early last month got quite a show. On a sunny day, they saw a sea of smiling faces in black and green circling the field at high speed. The annual school jogathon was in progress.
All students, pre-school through eighth grade, and their teachers secure sponsors and run laps to raise money for St. Therese. Money raised goes to the school’s Parents Club to help keep tuition costs down and to building maintenance. Longtime parent, Steve Jones, played DJ and kept runners moving for 45 minutes. Prizes went out for most laps, largest class participation and most money donated. The jogathon was organized this year by parents Kate Hadley and Nicole Springer, who supervised many volunteers.
