St. Luke, Woodburn
|Fr. James Coleman|
Focus of the year will be school-wide learning expectations. The aim is to develop "Christ-like Ambassadors through Service, Academics, and Strong Communication." Meanwhile, the school welcomes a new kindergarten teacher, new technology in the classrooms and a new pastor.
Caitlin Dinsmore comes to St. Luke to teach the 14 enrolled kindergartners. She attended Queen of Peace School in Salem, followed by high school at Blanchet Catholic. She received an undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco in art history and arts management and completed a graduate degree in teaching at the University of Portland. She has worked as a substitute teacher for three years.
Through a paddle raise at the 2013 auction, St. Luke received funds to add interactive white boards to every classroom.
The school and parish community look forward to working with Father James Coleman. A veteran of missionary work in South America, he began his assignment at St. Luke in July and is already engaged in moving the school forward with a special focus on enrollment and marketing.
