Margaret Monahan Hogan presents 'Resistance: Its Costs and Its Limits'

James University of Portland professor emeritus Margaret Monahan Hogan will present a lecture, “Resistance: Its Costs and Its Limits,” on Wednesday, April 3, at 7 p.m., in Buckley Center room 163 on the University campus, 5000 N. Willamette Blvd. Her talk is free and open to the public.

Hogan’s presentation will provide a framework to consider the costs and the limits of resistance. Her lecture will include the Thomas Aquinas’ teachings on obedience; examples of resistance in recent history including the Kreisau Circle and its opposition to Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party during WWII; and present day religious liberty.
