11/5/2012 1:41:00 PM Luncheon raises funds for aid at Jesuit
A record audience of more than 730 guests heard a keynote presentation by Alberto Salazar, world renowned long distance runner and coach, at the Jesuit High School 10th financial aid luncheon.
Salazar coached the 2012 Olympic gold and silver medalists, is current coach in the Nike Oregon Project and is an alumni parent. Emceed by KGW news anchor Joe Donlon, the lunch provided an opportunity for guests to hear the Jesuit Chamber Choir and learn about the impact financial aid has on the school community.
The day brought in more than $380,000 in gross revenue. Money goes toward tuition assistance, which is received by a quarter of the student body.
The school's mission is to transform students into leaders who are “men and women for others” and educate students spiritually, religiously, intellectually, physically, emotionally and aesthetically.
