Four senior mechanical engineering students from the University of Portland are leaving their mark on campus before they graduate. Between midterms and studying for classes, Andy Moore, Tulley Craig, Nick Etheredge and Sean Thomas are busy finishing their senior project, an extensive energy audit of a campus building. For an entire year, they performed an energy audit on the science building Swindells Hall.

“I really liked this idea for the project since I want to get into this kind of field for engineering,” Etheredge said. “Energy efficiency improvements on existing structures really interest me.”

Built in 1999, Swindells is home to science education on The Bluff.
