GRANTS PASS — Father Bill Holtzinger, pastor of St. Anne Church, will share the experience of his and other pilgrims’ visit to the Holy Land during a presentation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Sunday, April 15, in the parish center.
Attendees will see photos and hear stories during the presentation, “Catholicism 101: The Holy Land.” This year, Southern Oregon residents comprised more than 20 percent of the 97 pilgrims who went on the trip.
This was Father Holtzinger’s third time going on the Archbishop’s pilgrimage. He left the group at the end of the day to hike 20 minutes to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
“This is where Christ’s life came to its crescendo,” the priest said. “This is our ground zero of Good News. While the space was dark and the people bustled about, the din of their prayers and footsteps were a reminder that our faith is truly catholic.”
Each time he has visited, Father Holtzinger has found that the Church of the Holy Sepulchre grabs his full attention.
“My faith is richer for the experience, and I look forward to the day I can return,” he said. To see more photos, log on to www.catholicsentinel.org.
