Cantores in Ecclesia, directed by Blake Applegate, presents its annual concert for Palm Sunday on April 1, at St. Stephen Church in Southeast Portland.

This year’s concert, “O vos omnes: Music for Lent and Holy Week,” features sacred works by Allegri, Dering, Lassus, Lotti, Palestrina, Rubbra, Tallis and Weelkes. Highlights of the program include Gregorio Allegri’s famous Miserere, Palestrina’s double choir setting of the Stabat Mater, and selections from the rarely performed Tenebrae Motets by the 20th century English composer Edmond Rubbra.

The concert starts at 3 p.m., at 1112 SE 41st Ave.

Established in 1983, Cantores in Ecclesia (singers in church) specializes in Gregorian chant and sacred polyphony in the liturgical context of the Latin Mass of the Catholic Church.

Tickets are $20 general, or $15 for students and seniors, available at the door or in advance at www.brownpapertickets.com or 1-800-838-3006.
