The Association for Gerontology in Higher Education has named Jennifer Sasser, chairwoman of the Department of Human Sciences at Marylhurst University, a winner of its 2012 Distinguished Faculty Award.
Sasser is an expert on the aging process. She recently co-authored “Aging Concepts and Controversies” with Rick Moody of the American Association of Retired Persons. The textbook takes a critical thinking approach to the study of aging and later life, including addressing common stereotypes about aging. Sasser has taught at Marylhurst for more than a decade.
