Here are some events set for May at the Franciscan Spiritual Center. Gatherings take place at the center, 2512 SE Monroe St. in Milwaukie unless noted.
A book study on the pilgrimage into the last third of life takes place 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Thursdays at St. Pius X Parish in Portland through May 29. Topics include "Living with Limitations,” "Redeeming Loss and Suffering" and "Leaving a Legacy.”
Aging is also the topic of “Growing through Grace,” a session set for 1 p.m.-3 p.m. on Monday, May 5. Participants will be encouraged to find a way to grow spiritually as they age.
Breathwork and meditation are topics of a four week series that runs 10 a.m.-noon on Saturdays through May 31.
The passionate tradition of Celtic prayer gets explored 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesdays, May 13, 20 and 27th. Unpaid family caregivers are welcomed for respite 1:30 p.m.-3 p.m. Wednesdays through June 11. The free sessions (there is a suggested $30 donation for the book) help develop self care and reduce stress.
“Practicing Positivity: Living a Happy Life Despite Chronic Illness” is the topic 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, May 15.
