Jesuit Father Paul Fitterer was ordained in June 1963. He earned a bachelor of arts in philosophy from Gonzaga University in 1956, as well as a licentiate of philosophy and master of arts in philosophy the following year. He completed a licentiate of sacred theology and masters of arts in theology in 1964 at Santa Clara University in California.
Over the years, Father Fitterer served Jesuit educational institutions in a variety of roles including teacher, counselor and campus minister, as well as president of Seattle Preparatory School. He also served as formation director and socius of the Oregon Province Novitiate in Portland.
The new Community Ministry Center at Seattle Preparatory School will be named in his honor. Father Fitterer is now the assistant in community ministry and development at Seattle Preparatory School.
