Day of quiet prayer to start Lent

MOUNT ANGEL — Shalom Prayer Center will offer "Conversion of Life: An Ash Wednesday Day of Reflection," 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13. The session begins the Lenten season with quiet and reflection. Participants will focus on conversion as a call and choice to turn and move into a deeper and more loving relationship with God. Presenter is Benedictine Sister Jeanette von Herrmann, a scholar, spiritual writer and blogger.

Cost of the retreat day is $70, with registration due by Feb. 6. Participants may join the monastic community for Eucharist at 7 a.m.
