Here are some upcoming programs at the Franciscan Spiritual Center in Milwaukie:

• Rabbi Rob Abramovitz gives a rabbi's view of the gospels 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. He'll decipher some of the Gospel stories using the latest information from the Dead Sea Scrolls and other recent archeological finds. Topics include: What is the greatest of God’s commandments? Why did Jesus stay behind when his family went to Jerusalem for Passover?  What was the ancient Jewish view of women?

• Creating a home altar is the topic 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. Participants will bring in statues, icons, rosaries and objects from nature to arrange an altar.

• A session to begin Advent is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. The group will use the labyrinth to examine holy interior longings.

The center is located at 6902 SE Lake Rd, Suite 300 in Milwaukie. For more programs and information, call 503-794-8542.
