Offerings include pilgrim walk, discernment
Here are some programs offered during March at the Franciscan Spiritual Center in Milwaukie:
• "Pilgrims Journey on the Labyrinth" — During the Middle Ages when travel to the Holy Land was too dangerous, Christians would walk a labyrinth as a local pilgrimage and a journey to one's interior. In this session set for 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, March 24, participants will walk in candlelight and with music.
• "The Desires of Our Hearts: The Contours of Franciscan Discernment" — People want to make decisions that are sound and rooted in God’s will. At sessions set for 10 a.m.-noon or 7 p.m.-9 p.m. on Fridays March 23 and 30, participants can discern through the lens of Franciscan spirituality. Franciscan discernment, organizers say, begins with abundance and knowing grace and beauty are everywhere.
The center is located at 6902 SE Lake Rd, Suite 300 in Milwaukie. For information, call 503-794-8542 or go to www.FrancisSpCtr.com.
