I do not think Black Lives Matter is an organization that brings people together; however, Blacks do need help but most people, I believe, would prefer Dr. King’s type of approach.

Good Catholics
There is no need to disparage Catholics who work for social justice.

Our beloved godmother
We give thanks to God for sending us a dear friend, a loving godmother, a doting grandmother, a wise adviser and a staunch supporter. We will always have a place at our table, and a soft spot in our heart, for our beloved godmother.

Refreshing witness
In this time of strife, the joy and festivity of the young people at World Youth Day are a refreshing witness to a better way, and happy news that our creator is a merciful father, who does not enslave us but loves us so that he gave his only son for each of us.

Thanks for sending Father Gary
Now, 79 or maybe 80 years old, Father Gary continues providing comfort for refugees. What can we do here in Oregon to welcome the poor and suffering?

Our pups are descendants of Father Jim's Golden Lab
Consequently, our pups are named after saints — St. Charles Anthony or Tony for short. Our female is named St. Lucille Rose or Lucy for short. It is a small world.

On immigration, we should follow Catholic bishops
There are a handful of principles where NAE and USCCB agree, but because of the principles where they disagree, the office supports the USCCB.

Each can act
A friend gave me a copy of “Milligrams of mercy” by Patricia Matteri (July 1, page 18). It was a timely gift. National events threaten to overwhelm our best intentions and our own acts of mercy.

Gives me focus
These gestures help me get back in focus. Having all members of the Mass standing in union, facing the table of sacrifice and the tabernacle will send a powerful message.

Share your faith?
How many of us have thought to question anything about our faith and how we share it with Natalie and our other sisters and brothers beyond our freshman year?

Route to holiness?
We are clearly out of grace, but why? Perhaps  it’s “the universal call to holiness.”

How do we question well?
How many of us have thought to question anything about our faith and how we share it with Natalie and our other sisters and brothers? beyond our freshman year?

May I buy one?
Loved the article about Philomena Durcan and her art. Are her quilts for sale anywhere? Well, no.

Find new angles
God may believe in punishment, but by no means believes in punishment by execution.

Outside their normal sphere
I am glad these young ladies did learn about something outside of their normal sphere of life.

Most important
It is a good reminder to focus on the most important thing of life, our relationship with Christ.

Good memory
Heather Renshaw’s excellent article “Understanding the Power of No,” (June 17, page 22) was informative, enlightening, cautionary, and telltale as well.

Inform us
The Sentinel’s excellent coverage of international and Vatican news is of great interest to me.

Stand for love
We also stand for love for Muslims. We stand for love for our gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered brothers and sisters. We stand for love for Latinos, Native Americans and all people of color. We stand for love for the incarcerated. We stand for love. Pure and simple.

There is a demagogue
If it can happen in the Philippines, it can happen here.

It was a vocation
Thank you for the excellent story (June 17, pg. 9) on Debilyn Janota, our outgoing principal here at Queen of Peace School in Salem.
